Your conversations stay yours
Whisperr translates speech in real time without keeping it. No audio is ever stored, and transcripts are only saved when you explicitly choose to save them.

How your data is handled
Audio is never stored
Your audio is processed in real time to produce the transcript and translation, then discarded. Whisperr keeps no recordings, so there is no audio archive of your conversations anywhere.
Nothing is saved unless you say so
Transcripts and translations are not stored on our servers by default. They are only saved to your account if you turn on "Save to Cloud" in the Web App, and you can toggle it off before any session.
On mobile, data stays on your device
On iPhone and Android, transcriptions are stored locally on your phone and nowhere else. You can delete each conversation from local storage whenever you want.
Encrypted in transit
Traffic between your devices and our service is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or higher. Older protocol versions are refused.
Never used to train AI
We do not use your audio, transcripts, or translations to train machine learning models, and we do not permit our service providers to do so either.
Hosted in the United States
Our servers, and the speech recognition and translation providers that process your audio, are located in the United States. We do not offer region-pinned hosting or a non-US processing option.
Processors under contract
Audio and transcripts may be processed by third-party speech recognition and translation providers acting as our processors, solely to deliver the service. They work under zero-retention terms, so they do not keep your audio or transcripts after processing, and they are contractually barred from training on your data. We will name the current list on request.
Delete anytime
Saved cloud conversations can be deleted from within the service at any time, and GDPR data-subject rights let you access, correct, or delete your personal data whenever you ask.
What happens when you speak
- 1
Your microphone or device audio is streamed over an encrypted connection and processed in real time to produce the transcript and translation.
- 2
The transcript appears on your screen. The audio itself is discarded. It is never written to our servers, and our speech and translation providers work under zero-retention terms, so it is not kept on their servers either.
- 3
On the Web App, the transcript is stored in your account only if "Save to Cloud" is on. On mobile, it is stored locally on your phone. Either way, you can delete it whenever you want.
What we do not claim
So your review can move quickly, here is what Whisperr does not have today.
- We are not SOC 2 certified and hold no ISO 27001 certification today.
Common questions
Is my audio uploaded or recorded?
Audio is streamed for real-time processing so it can be transcribed and translated, but no recording is ever stored. Once the transcript is produced, the audio is gone.
Where are my transcripts stored?
Nowhere, by default. On the Web App, a transcript is only saved to your Whisperr account if you turn on "Save to Cloud" before recording, and you can delete any saved conversation later. On mobile, transcripts live in local storage on your phone and are not uploaded.
Can I use Whisperr for confidential conversations?
By default nothing persists after your session: no audio is kept, and no transcript is stored unless you opt in. If your organization needs to complete a security review or vendor questionnaire first, email support@whisperr.co and we will work through it with you.
Does Whisperr comply with GDPR?
Whisperr honors GDPR data-subject rights. You can access, correct, or delete your personal data from within the service or by contacting us. The full details are in our privacy policy.
The legally binding details live in our privacy policy and terms of service.
