Live Translation for Mosques, Temples and Gurdwaras

Welcome members and visitors who do not speak the language of the talk. The person speaking starts a room, shares a link or QR code, and everyone follows the spoken words in their own language on their own phone.

  1. 1

Pick the spoken language and the language to read

Set the language of the talk and the language you want to follow it in.

  2. 2

    Press Record and speak

Allow the microphone, then say a few sentences. Speak towards the microphone, as the speaker would.

  3. 3

Read the translation as you go

Translated text appears while you are still speaking. For a whole congregation, the person speaking turns on Broadcast Mode in the app so members read on their own phones.

00:00 / 01:00
Speak a few sentences the way a khutbah, satsang or dharma talk would be spoken. Whisperr listens through your microphone and translates as you talk.

How viewers can start realtime translation on their phone

The same steps work for a khutbah, satsang, dharma talk or a weekly lecture.

  1. 1

Place a device where it hears the speaker

Put a phone or laptop running Whisperr close to the speaker or the sound system.

  2. 2

Choose the spoken language and turn on Share Link

Pick the spoken language, turn on Share Link, and share the link or show its QR code on the Web App.

  3. 3

Members join and pick a language

Each person scans the QR code or opens the link and picks a language, or opens the Whisperr mobile app on their own phone.

An imam gives a talk with a phone on a small stand beside him while members read the Indonesian translation on their phones

Sermon shares the live transcription and translation to all users via QR code

On the Web App, your room link is stable. It is tied to your account and uses a ?channel= address, so you can print a QR code once and it keeps working for every later gathering. On the iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows apps, each broadcast creates a new link, so you share the new link each time you start.

Viewers need no app and no sign-up on any of these. The speaker keeps Whisperr open and recording for as long as the room should stay live.

A screen behind the speaker shows the live transcript and a QR code; a member who scanned it reads the Indonesian translation on their phone

Share the translation with everyone in the room

The speaker opens Whisperr and turns on Broadcast Mode, then shares the QR code or link. Viewers open it in any browser without an account, and follow along in their own language — reading, or listening with Speech mode.

  • Only the speaker needs a Whisperr account — viewers just open the link
  • Make the QR code and link stable on the web app, so you can put them on your website or a printed pamphlet
  • Speech mode reads each line aloud, with the voice and speed each viewer prefers

Top-Notch Speech Recognition and Flashcard-Style Translations for Fast Study

“Whisperr's speech recognition and translation quality are both top-notch, and better than similar tools I've tried so far. Beyond that, as a Japanese learner, I especially like how Whisperr displays each sentence and its translation almost like flashcards, with a text-to-speech button for each one. That setup makes studying feel fast and efficient, and it's easy to review sentence by sentence.”

Built for community gatherings

One talk, many languages

Help members, new arrivals and guests follow a talk without booths, receivers or a volunteer interpreter at every gathering.

A link or QR code, nothing to install

Worshippers open the room link in a phone browser. They need no app and no sign-up. Only the person broadcasting uses a Whisperr account.

Several languages in one room

A room covers the language being spoken plus five more, six in all. Each person picks their own from the same broadcast.

Read or listen

Viewers can read the translated text, or turn on Speech Mode and listen with their own earbuds. Both are a personal choice on their own device.

Works for online gatherings too

Put the link on your community website or in a message so members at home or travelling can follow along from a browser.

Spoken words only

Whisperr translates what is said. It does not interpret scripture and does not replace scholars, clergy or translators of sacred text.

For many communities

Mosques, Hindu and Jain temples, Sikh gurdwaras, Buddhist temples, synagogues and interfaith events can all use the same setup.

Help everyone follow the talk

Worship service translation FAQ

Can I translate a khutbah or Friday sermon live?+
Yes. Run Whisperr on a laptop or phone near the speaker and turn on Share Link. Members open the room link or scan a QR code and read the translated text in their own language while the khutbah is being delivered.
Does this work for temples, gurdwaras and synagogues?+
Yes, in the same way. Whisperr translates spoken talks, such as a satsang, dharma talk, lecture or sermon, wherever there is a speaker and a microphone.
Do worshippers need an app or an account?+
No. They open the room link in a phone or computer browser and pick their language. Only the person broadcasting needs a Whisperr account.
How many languages can one room serve?+
A room is the language being spoken plus five more, six in total. Each person picks their own from the same link.
How fast is it?+
Text appears on viewers’ screens as the speaker talks, a short moment behind the spoken words. The exact delay depends on the audio quality and everyone’s internet connection, so test the room before the gathering.
Does the translation disappear?+
Viewers follow the talk as it happens in the room. When the speaker stops recording, the room closes for everyone. The speaker can keep the transcript: Save to Cloud on the Web App stores it in their Whisperr account, and on iPhone and Android it is saved on the phone.
Can it speak the translation to me in real time?+
Yes. Any viewer can tap Speech Mode to hear each translation read aloud in the language they picked, and it is a per-person choice, so some members can listen with earbuds while others read. Speech Mode starts off in a new room.
Can each person choose the language they see?+
Yes. Everyone picks their own from the Translation language menu on the same link, and their choice does not change what anyone else sees. A room has the spoken language plus five more.
Does it need an internet connection?+
Yes. The speaker’s device and every viewer’s device need an internet connection, because the speech is processed online as it is spoken.
Will it translate recitation in Arabic, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Pali or Hebrew?+
It may not. Recitation in a liturgical language, as well as chanting and singing, is often transcribed poorly, and Whisperr is not a translator of scripture. It works best on ordinary spoken talks. Microphone placement and room echo change the result, so test the setup first. It is not a substitute for scholars, imams, priests, granthis or other religious teachers, or for religious rulings.
Should members use their phones during a service?+
That is for each community to decide, so please check your community’s guidelines first. A printed QR code or a quiet area can help those who wish to follow in their own language.
Is it free?+
You can try it for free, but free sessions are limited in length (two minutes per session on the web), so a full khutbah or service needs a paid plan. Paid plans are a flat fee with unlimited use and no per-minute or per-language metering.
