Speak German, hear Greek — voice translation with your microphone

Tap the mic and start speaking — Whisperr listens to spoken German through your microphone and translates it to Greek in about 0.2 seconds, read aloud or shown on screen. No typing and no text boxes: real-time voice translation built for actual conversation.

It works in both directions automatically: speak Greek back and it returns German. One phone between two speakers is enough for a whole conversation. Try it with your own voice in the live demo above — free, no sign-up.

What to expect translating German and Greek live

German puts its verbs at the end of the clause and compounds nouns freely, so an accurate translation has to wait for the complete sentence. Whisperr’s speech recognition covers the German spoken across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Greek is written in its own alphabet and runs three grammatical genders through its endings, so translation has to rebuild agreement rather than swap words. Recognition likewise covers the Greek of Greece and Cyprus.

The transcript shows each side in its own writing system: the Latin alphabet for German, the Greek alphabet for Greek. Because Whisperr auto-detects which of the two languages is being spoken, German to Greek conversations flow in both directions without switching anything by hand.

What users say

Top-Notch Speech Recognition and Flashcard-Style Translations for Fast Study

“Whisperr's speech recognition and translation quality are both top-notch, and better than similar tools I've tried so far. As a Japanese learner, I especially like how Whisperr displays each sentence and its translation almost like flashcards, with a text-to-speech button for each one. Whisperr has removed a huge barrier to interacting with foreign-language speakers in real time, and to consuming video content that doesn't already have a translation.”

Worth hundreds of thousands of yen

“The same performance as other conversation translation apps. Those charge by the minute, but this one is apparently a one-time purchase, so the value for money is outstanding. Compared with about five similar apps, this one is the best on both performance and price. I wonder whether it was made by a Japanese developer??”

German to Greek translation FAQ

Can I translate German to Greek by voice in real time?+
Yes. Whisperr listens to spoken German and shows or speaks the Greek translation live, with about 0.2 seconds of latency — in person, on calls, or over video.
Does it translate both directions?+
Yes. It auto-detects German and Greek and translates each into the other automatically, so a two-way conversation just flows.
Where can I use it?+
Face-to-face (microphone), on video calls (browser tab capture), and while watching video (floating subtitles on iOS & Android or tab capture).
Which devices are supported?+
Native iOS, iPad, Mac, and Android apps, plus a web app and a Chrome extension. One login works everywhere.
Is it free?+
You can start for free. Unlimited real-time use is available on a low flat annual plan, with no per-minute metering or per-language caps.
Which German varieties does Whisperr understand?+
Whisperr understands standard German, Bavarian, Austrian German, and Swiss German; speech recognition adapts to accents automatically, with no setup.
How different are German and Greek?+
German is a West Germanic language and Greek is its own branch of the Indo-European family; grammar and word order differ, which is why literal word-for-word translation reads awkwardly. Whisperr translates complete phrases, so the output sounds natural in both.
