Russian relies on six grammatical cases rather than word order, so the word endings carry who does what to whom. Whisperr’s speech recognition covers the Russian spoken across Russia and much of the former Soviet Union.
Ukrainian uses seven cases and a vocative form, and everyday speech sometimes blends with Russian (surzhyk). Recognition likewise covers the Ukrainian of Ukraine.
Both languages are written in the Cyrillic alphabet, so the two sides of the transcript read naturally next to each other. Because Whisperr auto-detects which of the two languages is being spoken, Russian to Ukrainian conversations flow in both directions without switching anything by hand.
